The Story of the Shot

I set out one morning to photograph the “Dragon Tree” in Yellowstone, and decided to take a timelapse of the event. Of course, I was hoping to catch a nice Yellowstone sunstar, but this turned out better than planned! The timelapse required shooting hundreds of frames spread out over an hour of time, so the camera couldn’t move once set up. I picked what I thought would be a good view, dialed in my settings, and set the camera loose. To my shock and excitement, I discovered that the sun rose directly through a gap in the trees from my vantage point. The sunstar poking through the gap reminded me of an eye…perhaps the Eye of Yellowstone? But, since this is the “Dragon Tree,” that means it must be the eye of the dragon! Print Type

METAL: Metal prints feature dye directly infused onto a thin sheet of aluminum. They are sleek and modern, featuring vibrant colors and an almost magical luminescence. Because they are made from a solid sheet of metal, they are waterproof and scratch resistant. Also, no framing is required for metal prints! Simply mount the print directly to your wall (mounting hardware is included with each print).

PAPER: Paper prints are un-framed and include just the print itself. The buyer is responsible for matting and framing the print once it has been delivered. That way, you can use a frame that you already have, or choose your own custom frame to better match your existing décor.

PLEASE NOTE: All prints ship directly from my print lab partner and are therefore not able to be signed. If you are interested in a signed print, please contact me to place a custom order. Signed prints usually cost slightly more since I need to have the print shipped twice (once from the print lab to me, and again from me to you).

Shipping

All orders ship for free. Please allow 2-4 weeks total for production and shipping/delivery. At this time, I am only able to ship to the contiguous 48 US states. Any orders with a shipping address outside of this area will be canceled and refunded.
